Rhodes & Associates, Inc. provided design for renovations to existing generator systems at 14 DWSD Facilities.
This project entailed the design of the (a) removal and replacement of the existing 15KV switchgear lineup at two facilities, (b) provide the capability to monitor and control the existing generator systems at 14 remote facilities from the DWSD (PC-713 Ovation System) System Wide Monitoring and Control System, (c) modify the existing generator system control to allow for operation of loads from either section of the facility 15KV bus during all modes of generator operation, (d) replace existing manual transfer switches in the generator control panel with automatic transfer switches at designated locations, (e) provide a new Ovation Work Station in the maintenance office at Central Services Facility.
In addition the design work included all civil, architectural, structural, electrical, instrumentation, control, testing and ancillary work necessary, to provide a complete and fully functional System.
Generators at the Lake Huron Water Treatment Plant, typical of one of the 14 remote facilities, consist of 8 Paralleled 2 Mega Watt each. Also shown, are Fuel Tanks and 15KV Switchgear. The Generators are now monitored and can be controlled remotely from DWSD’s System Wide Monitoring and Control System.
